Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for Diabetes

Description: Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for Diabetes is a two-hour accredited course. It will review the Evidence-Based Nutrition Principles & Recommendations for diabetes developed by the American Diabetes and American Dietetic Associations and give examples on how to apply the recommendations. The importance of carbohydrates in diabetic meal planning is reviewed. Several meal-planning methods (Plate, Exchanges and Consistent Carb Counting) are reviewed. Several handouts are provided for use with clients.
