Information Collection and Use

MedEdOps is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to any outside parties, except as outlined in this policy. MedEdOps collects information from our users at several different points on our website in order to process registrations and better serve you with pertinent information. Information collected includes name, shipping address, billing address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, and payment information such as credit card. MedEdOps also requires you to submit a username and password of your choice for future access to your account. Your user name and password is to remain confidential and you should not share this information with anyone.

Registration

In order to register for courses using this website, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give their contact information, which include name, e-mail, telephone number and physical address. This information is used to contact the user about the services on our site such as sending automated account status updates and purchase information.

Most of the information collected in the registration process will be used to process registrations. In the registration process, a user must provide additional financial information such as credit card number, expiration date, or purchase order number. This information is used for billing purposes only. If we have trouble processing a registration, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user. We do not share your personal and financial information with any third parties. The only exception is when processing your credit card information with the merchant bank for authorization and approval. This process is protected by an enhanced security system. See Security paragraph for more details on security measures and procedures.

Cookies

With respect to cookies, we use cookies to keep track of which user is using the site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site Cookies are used by the shopping cart to retain information necessary to process your registration information, but a user can optionally reject the cookie and the cookie data will be embedded in the site url instead. We do not share any information with any third party sites. Cookies are used strictly for the purpose of enhancing your personal experience with our site. When you close your browser, the cookies will be terminated.

Log Files

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. We do not distribute or share IP information with any third parties.

Sharing

We use an outside a credit card processing company (Authorize.net) to bill users for services. Authorize.net does not share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

MedEdOps.org is a owned and operated by the Diabetes Education Society, which is a Colorado Non Profit Organization and shall abide by all federal and state laws. MedEdOps shall disclose any personally identifiable information when required to by law.

Security

The MedEdOps website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

When our registration form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. All of our users' information is classified and restricted. The MedEdOps hosting computer is stored in a secured and locked facility managed by Fibercloud.com requiring computer programmed keyed entry and valid retinal scan. Security cameras with digital archiving are stationed throughout the building in conjunction with several alarm systems. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. If you would like your credit card information to be deleted from our database you may contact us at support@mededops.org or call (303) 393-6043 to request that your information be deleted from our database. For future transactions, you will be required to re-enter your information.

All MedEdOps servers including web servers and database servers are protected by multiple Cisco and Linux firewalls and password protection. The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secured environment.

MedEdOps provides customer testimonials that allows site visitors to see what our current customers think of our site and the courses we offer. All posted customer testimonials are viewable to all visitors browsing the MedEdOps.org site. This information is exclusive to the MedEdOps.org site and is not sent to any third party sites. MedEdOps is not responsible for the comments or actions of visitors based on the information posted on the site.

Special Offers and/or Newsletters

If you choose to receive special offers, MedEdOps may send you such pertinent information. Our special offers are sent only to customers who grant MedEdOps permission to send such information. MedEdOps does not share your information with third parties and does not solicit outside parties to send special offers on our behalf.

Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. At the time of your registration, you may opt to not receive special offers and news by un-checking the appropriate field. After registration you may opt out by un-checking the appropriate field on the My Account page. Furthermore, all special offers are sent via e-mail and will contain instructions on how to opt out if you wish to no longer receive special offers and news. Otherwise, customers may occasionally receive information on new courses, special deals or news.

Notification of Changes

If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
